These terms are the agreement between you and Clearhead Labs ("we", "us"), the sole proprietorship of Ayaan Bhowmick, India, which publishes Inkvale ("the service") on Android, the web, desktop and iOS. By creating an account or using the service you accept them.
1. Your account
- You need an account to sync. You are responsible for keeping access to your sign-in secure.
- One account is for one person. Don't share credentials.
- You must be 13 or older to use Inkvale. It is not directed at children under 13.
- You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account; see the deletion page for exactly what is removed.
2. Your content is yours
- You keep all rights to the notes, attachments and other content you create. We claim no ownership of it.
- You grant us only the narrow permission needed to run the service for you: to store, back up and transmit your content between your devices, and — when you explicitly invoke an AI action — to send the relevant text to our AI provider to produce your result.
- We do not read your notes, sell your content, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models. The privacy policy is the full account of what we do with data.
- You are responsible for what you store. Don't use Inkvale to store or distribute anything unlawful, or content you have no right to hold.
3. Acceptable use
Don't attempt to break, overload or circumvent the service — including reverse-engineering the entitlement system to obtain Premium without paying, abusing the free trial with repeated accounts, scraping, or automating AI requests beyond ordinary personal use. We may suspend an account that does.
4. Premium subscriptions
- Inkvale is free to use. Premium is an optional auto-renewing subscription at ₹69 per month or ₹499 per year, inclusive of applicable taxes.
- Premium is attached to your account, not your device — bought anywhere, it works everywhere you sign in.
- Payment is processed by Google Play for purchases made in the Android app, and by Razorpay for purchases made on the web or desktop. We never receive or store your card details.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancelling, and our refund position, are set out in the cancellation and refund policy, which forms part of these terms.
- We may change prices. Changes apply from your next renewal and we will tell you first.
5. AI features
AI output is generated by a language model and can be wrong, incomplete or unsuitable for your purpose. Check anything that matters before relying on it. AI features run against a monthly fair-use allowance; we may adjust that allowance to keep the service sustainable, and we will not reduce it in a way that makes a paid feature useless without telling you.
6. Availability
We aim to keep Inkvale running and your data safe, but the service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Features may change, and platform-specific features (widgets, reminders, biometric lock) differ by device — Inkvale keeps working offline regardless.
7. Your own backups
Your notes are synced and stored redundantly by Google Firebase, but no system is infallible. You can export everything at any time as PDF, Markdown, HTML or plain text, and we recommend keeping your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.
8. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost data, lost profits or lost time. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including your rights as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
9. Ending the agreement
You may stop using Inkvale and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end an account that breaches these terms, or if we discontinue the service — in which case section 6 of the refund policy applies and you keep the ability to export your notes.
10. Changes to these terms
If we make material changes we will update this page and the effective date above, and give notice in the app where the change affects what you pay or what you get. Continuing to use Inkvale after a change means you accept it.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over any dispute — without affecting consumer-protection rights you hold where you live.
