The short version: cancel whenever you like, keep what you paid for, and if a charge was a genuine mistake we will refund it. The detail below matters mainly because where you bought Premium decides who processes the cancellation.
Cancelling
You can cancel at any time. Cancelling stops the next charge — it does not cut off the period you have already paid for. If you cancel a yearly subscription in its second month, Premium stays on for the remaining ten.
| Where you subscribed | How to cancel |
|---|---|
| Android app (Google Play) | Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Inkvale → Cancel. We cannot cancel a Play subscription for you; Google holds the billing relationship. |
| Web or desktop (Razorpay) | Open Inkvale → Premium → Cancel subscription. It takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and no further charge is made. |
Deleting your Inkvale account does not cancel a subscription. These are separate systems — cancel first, then delete, or you may keep being billed. The account deletion page says the same thing.
Free trial
Every account can start a one-month free trial of Premium. It requires no card and takes no payment, so there is nothing to cancel and nothing to refund — it simply ends. You can also end it early from within the app.
Refunds
Premium is a digital service delivered immediately, so we do not refund unused time as a matter of course — cancelling stops future billing, which is the remedy for changing your mind. We do refund in these cases:
- Accidental or duplicate charges. Charged twice, or charged for a plan you did not intend to buy — refunded in full.
- You were charged after cancelling. Refunded in full.
- Premium did not work. If a fault on our side prevented you from using the Premium features and we could not fix it, we refund the period affected.
- Within 7 days, unused. If you subscribed within the last 7 days and have not meaningfully used the Premium features, ask and we will refund it. We would rather you not pay for something you don't want.
We may decline a refund where a subscription has been used substantially across a billing period, or where an account is refunding repeatedly in a pattern that looks like abuse.
How to request one
- Bought on the web or desktop (Razorpay): email ayaanbhowmick135@gmail.com with the email address on your Inkvale account, and the date and amount of the charge. We reply within two working days. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method and typically reach your bank within 5–7 working days, depending on your card issuer.
- Bought in the Android app (Google Play): refunds are handled by Google under the Google Play refund policy — request one from your Play Store order history. If Google declines and you believe the case falls under the list above, write to us and we will look at it.
Price changes
If we change the price of Premium, the new price applies from your next renewal, and we will tell you before it takes effect so you can cancel if you'd rather not continue.
If we discontinue Inkvale
If Inkvale were ever shut down, we would refund the unused portion of any active subscription and give notice long enough for you to export your notes, which you can do at any time anyway (PDF, Markdown, HTML or plain text).
